The Do’s & Don’ts of Communicating with Your Teen
Friday, April 7th; 12 - 1:30 pm
Everything I say is wrong. Every conversation ends up in a power struggle. I want to be able to talk without it turning into a fight.
I want my child to be kinder, and more respectful when she talks to me.
I want more calm, more ease in our house.
Have you said similar statements? If so, this workshop is for you!
Communicating with your adolescents can be challenging to say the least. The way we communicate can either shut them out or bring them closer to us.
I have created this workshop to give you effective, specific strategies to know how to respond to tough situations, have more positive interactions with your girls and create connections.
What we will cover:
Who is this for?
This workshop is for any parent struggling to have the conversations they really want with their girls whether it be tough conversations when you need to set boundaries or give consequences or you find her shutting you out and you don’t know how to open the line of communication.
This is for any parent that wants to feel better about the way they speak to their daughters and the way their daughters speak to them.
We’ll meet in a location in south central Austin (near Zilker Park) from 12:00 - 1:30 pm on Friday, April 7th.
Bring a water bottle, a journal and a pen. Please feel free to bring your lunch.
Barb will share the wisdom she has gained from her over 30 years of experience working with teens and their parents (not to mention, she is raising a teen herself, so she gets the struggle!). There will be plenty of time for both learning and sharing. Bring your questions! Expect to leave with concrete strategies to improve your communication and connection with your sweet girls!
