Girls' friendships are tricky and ever-changing. Being her parent, you either hear about the roller coaster ride of emotions or you experience the brunt of her hurt. In this workshop, you will walk away with specific strategies to help your daughter have the social life she wants.

What we will cover: 

  • Finding her tribe
  • The downside of being “popular”; helping her manage the demands of her social life
  • When her friends are unkind
  • Handling her anger at her friend(s)
  • Exclusion among her peers
  • Frenemies (part-time friends/part-time enemies)
  • Friend breakups
  • Creating boundaries with a troubled friend
  • Knowing when she needs outside support

Who is this for?

This workshop is for any parent feeling at a loss on how to help their girls with their friendships/social lives and any parent who is tired of seeing their daughter struggle. This workshop is for parents who want to teach their daughters how to be socially kind, engaged and happy.

 Workshop Details:

We’ll meet in a location in south central Austin (near Zilker Park) from 11 am – 1 pm on Friday, January 13th.

Bring a water bottle, a journal, and a pen. Please feel free to bring your lunch.

Format:

Barb will share her wisdom on girls’ friendships from her over 30 years of experience working with teens. There will be plenty of time for both learning and sharing. Bring your questions! Expect to leave with concrete strategies to improve your daughters' friendship issues.
