Girls & Sex: Telling Like It Is!
For teen girls ages 13 - 18: who have questions about boys, bodies and sex. We will have an open and honest talk: how to handle pressure, how do you know if you are ready or if he is "the one", how can you say no if you are afraid to lose him, what are the consequences of having sex, and much more while watching real girls in Barb's DVD The Wisdom of Girls: Teens, Sex & Truth. You can trust you will be in a very comfortable, non-judgmental setting! *Parents, feel free to email Barb with any questions about content.

 

Happiness? Bring It On!
For teen girls ages 13 -18: Do you wish you could be happier - at home and at school? Sometimes do you hate your life, your parents, your friends, yourself? You CAN be happier. You CAN feel better. In this workshop, you will learn how to go through your day feeling good! Bring your friends - it'll make it even more fun!

 

Is This Really the Body I'm Stuck With?
This workshop will enable participants to:

  • identify thoughts and behaviors that lead to poor body image
  • explore environmental sources that affect body image
  • explain how poor body image affects success in all areas of life
  • establish strategies toward positive body image

 

Why You Overeat and How to Stop
This workshop will enable participants to:

  • define binge eating / compulsive overeating
  • understand the experience of compulsive eating
  • explore reasons why people engage in overeating
  • learn ways to break the cycle of overeating
  • discover how to have a healthy relationship with food for you and your daughter

 

Be Funky, Be Fearless, Be Fabulous, Be You
This workshop will enable participants to:

  • explore what girls would like to change about themselves and why
  • challenge the belief "If I change ____ about myself, I will be happy."
  • identify what brings the girls happiness
  • establish each girl's strengths and talents
  • practice positive self-talk through role-playing

 

I Want to be Different, Just Like Everyone Else *
This workshop will enable participants to:

  • define pressure/peer pressure
  • identify kinds of relationships in life and how their level of importance effects the amount of pressure
  • using different scenarios, characterize subtle vs. blatant pressure
  • establish tools to handle pressure

What Do I Do About the Mean Girls at School?
This workshop will enable participants to:

  • define ways in which girls bully
  • understand why girls bully
  • discuss how bullying hurts girls now and in the future
  • learn ways to respond to bullying behavior

 

Dating: There is so much to think about! *
This workshop will enable participants to:

  • explore what they want in a significant other
  • share their positive and negative dating experiences
  • examine the pressures they feel regarding intimacy
  • learn tools to deal with dating pressures in a healthy, positive way
